If we said "Don't talk about it, it is not related to our subject" which means " this is not connected to our subject" OR " Don't ruin our relationship" which means " the connection between us " OR " We are relatives " which means " that we are connected by blood "
I guess this is the meaning of "RELATE" in my opinion :D
