My job was to help granny. Every Saturday morning,
usually about ten o'clock, I rode my bicycle the mile to her
house. I knocked to her door and waited. She opened the
door, and I went in. First I had little breakfast
with her, usually sweet cinnamon rolls and
milk. She always asked about my mother and
father and brothers and sisters. Then the work
started. I went to the basement and got out the
broom, the mop, the bucket, and clean rags.
Granny had a big closet full of cleaning supplies.
My job was to clean her big house. It would usually take me
two or three hours. I could hear granny going out and about.
