Henry William Davis or Davies, was born in 1862. Henry attended school in Kanarra. There were no schools above the elementary grades at that time so his education was limited. But he learned much form the every-day experiences of life and took advantage of every opportunity afforded him to increase his knowledge. He was a farmer all his life, but worked at other jobs in order to make a better living for his family. He was interested in civic affairs. He was always willing to work for the good of the community and people in it. His children were aware of their father's good qualities. Florene wrote of him:"Dad was a good, honest, hard working man. He was most generous. If he saw anyone in need, especially widows and children, he would be there to help. he died in 1936

the 1st stanza: the poet wonders about the value of life if it is full of worries ,problems and troubles that make people unable to look deeply at the nice things in life

the 2nd stanza: the poet says when life is full of worries people will not be able to stare at nature like sheep and cows

the 3rd stanza: the poet says because people has many worries, they have no time to enjoy the image of squirrel hiding their food

the 4th stanza: the streams are glittering because of the sun beams or light just like real stars in the sky at night. And because of there worries, people have no time to enjoy this beautiful image

the 5th and 6th stanza: here the poet speaks about nature comparing it to a beautiful girl who is dancing and having a beautiful smile on her face. He says that because of there business people have no time to just glance the beautiful nature

the 7th stanza: finally the poet ends his poem with his point of view about life saying how life will be if it was full of trouble , problem or worries. He says that life will be without meaning and tasteless because it doesn't give us any time to enjoy the beauty of nature
