Composition (1)” is the first of three writing courses. The course focuses
on a variety of methods of developing composition by description. It covers
writing compositions of a moderate length (2-4 paragraphs) and activities
which familiarize students with the techniques of writing a topic sentence, a
thesis statement, and controlling ideas. The course also includes writing an
outline and making a summary.
