Barrie's last and most ambitious drama was The Boy David (1936)
in which he has given a fine picture of the candid soul of boyhood.
As the play deals with a story from the Bible, which is well-known,
Barrie could not here effectively make use of the element of surprise; which is his strongest point in other plays.
