1. Catford (1965): defines translation as “the replacement of textual material in one language SL by equivalent textual material in another language TL”. 1- عرف Catford (1965) الترجمه على أنها " إستبدال الماده النصّيه في اللغه الأصليه (SLتعني source language ) الى مثيلتها في اللغه المراد الترجمه إليها (TL تعني اللغه الهدف target language )
2. Newmark (1982): defines it as “a craft consisting in the attempt to replace a written message and/or statement in one language by the same message and/or statement in another language”.
2- عرف Newmark (1982) الترجمه على أنها " حِرفة تقوم على محاولة إستبدال الرساله / أو الجمل المكتوبة في لغة ما إلى الرساله و الجمل ذاتها الى اللغه الأخرى "
