Act: A major section of a play. Acts are divided into varying numbers of shorter scenes. From ancient times. ÇáÝÕá : ÇáãÞØÚ ÇáÑÆíÓí ãä ÇáãÓÑÍíÉ . æÊäÞÓã ÝÕæá Çáì ÃÑÞÇã ãÊÝÇæÊÉ ãä ãÔÇåÏ ÃÞÕÑ . Characterization The means by which writers present and reveal character. ÇáÎÕÇÆÕ: ÇáæÓÇÆá ÇáÊí íÞÏãåÇ ÇáßÊÇÈ áíßÔÝæÇ Úä ÇáÔÎÕíÇÊ. Climax The turning point of the action in the plot of a play or story. ÇáÐÑæÉ: äÞØÉ ÇáÚãá Ýí ÍÈßÉ ÇáãÓÑÍíÉ Ãæ ÇáÞÕÉ. Dialogue The conversation of characters in a literary work. ÇáÍæÇÑ: ãÍÇÏËÉ ÇáÔÎÕíÇÊ Ýí ÇáÚãá ÇáÃÏÈí. Foreshadowing is the use of hints or clues to suggest what will happen later in literature. ÇáÅäÐÇÑ:åæ ÇÓÊÎÏÇã ÊáãíÍÇÊ Ãæ ÏáÇÆá ÊÔíÑ Åáì ãÇ ÓíÍÏË áÇÍÞÇ Ýí ÇáÃÏÈ. Hyperbole Is exaggeration or overstatement. Opposite of Understatement ÇáãÈÇáÛÉ: åæ ÇáÊåæíá Ãæ ÇáãÛÇáÇÉ æÇáÚßÓ åæ ÇáÊåæíä. Irony Is an implied discrepancy between what is said and what is meant. ÇáãÝÇÑÞÉ: åí ÇáÊäÇÞÖ ÇáÖãäí Èíä ãÇ íÞÇá æ ãÇ åæ ÇáãÞÕæÏ. Monologue A speech by a single character without another character's response. ÇáãäÇÌÇÉ: ßáÇã ãä ÔÎÕíÉ æÇÍÏÉ Ïæä ÑÏ ãä ÔÎÕíÉ ÃÎÑì . Soliloquy A speech in a play that is meant to be heard by the audience but not by other characters on the stage. ãäÇÌÇÉ ÇáäÝÓ: ßáãÇÊ Ýí ÇáãÓÑÍíÉ ãä ÇáãÝÊÑÖ Ãä Êßæä ÞÏ ÓãÚÊ ãä ÞÈá ÇáÌãåæÑ æáßä áíÓ ãä ÞÈá ÇáÔÎÕíÇÊ ÈÕæÊ ÚÇá.
