John Donne and metaphysical poetry

شعر ما وراء الطبيعه
The name given to a diverse group of 17th century English poets whose work is notable for its ingenious (clever) use of intellectual and theological concepts in surprising CONCEITS, strange PARADOXES, and far-fetched IMAGERY.
أُعطي هذا الإسم لمجموعة مختلفة من الشعراء في القرن 17 والذي أتّسمت أعمالهم بالإستعمال الذكي للمفاهيم الأدبية واللاهوتيه " theological " وللصور المُفاجئه مثل الأوهام " CONCEITS " والمفارقات الغريبة " strange PARADOXES " والصورة بعيدة المنال " far-fetched IMAGERY.
The leading metaphysical poet was John Donne
وكان قائد الشعر الميتافيزيقي هو جون دن " John Donne "

الودَآع : الحِداد الممنوع

The speak explains that he is forced to spend time apart from his lover, (his wife) but before he leaves, he tells her that their farewell should not become an occasion for mourning and sorrow. In the same way that virtuous men die mildly and without complaint, he says, so they should leave without “tear-floods” and “sigh-tempests,
يشرح الشّاعر بأنّهُ مرغم على قضاء وقت بعيداً عن محبوبته -والمقصود هنا زوجته- ولكن قبل أن يرحل يخبرها بأن وداعهما لاّ يجب أن يكون مناسبَة للنواح و المئاسي بل يجب أن يكون هادئا . وبنفس الطريقة التي يرحل بها الرجال الصّالحون عن الدنيا بهدوء, من دون سكب فيضانات من الدموع " “tear-floods” " ولّا عواصف من التنهّدات " “sigh-tempests,
الشّكل : Form
The nine stanzas of this Valediction are quite simple compared to many of Donne’s poems
الوداعية هذه " Valediction " صاحبة ال 4 ستانزات -مقاطع شعريه- تعتبر بسيطه جداً مقارنةٍ بمُعظم قصائد دن الأُخرى .
“A Valediction: forbidding Mourning” is one of Donne’s most famous and simplest poems and also probably his most direct statement of his ideal of spiritual love
وهذه الوداعية هي من أشهر وأسهل قصائد دن , وأكثر تعابيرة المباشرةً عن الحب المِثالي .
The occasion of the poem seems to be parting.
مناسبة القصيدة : هي الفراق "be parting"
conceit : a metaphor used to build an analogy between two things or situations not naturally, or usually, comparable.
الوَهم: وهو إستعارة إستُخدمت من أجل بناء تناظر " analogy " ما بين شيئين أو موقفين غير مُقارنين بالعادة
