* الأولى تنظر للترجمه على أنها فن و خاصه حينما انهمك الدارسون في القرن الأخير بترجمه النصوص الأدبيه كهوايه .
* الثانيه تنظر للترجمه على انها مهنه حيث أن أغلبيه المترجمين أمتهنوها ( أحترفوها) بغرض الحصول على لقمه العيش بدلا من كونها هواية . و هذا يتجلى بوضوح في ترجمه النصوص التقنيه , الطبيه , القانونية و الإدارية .

6How can we achieve Equivalence in Translation?
كيف يمكننا تحقيق التكافؤ في الترجمه ؟
When we are faced by a text- written or oral in a language we know,
we are able to work out its equivalence by looking in to the following :
عندما نُواجه نصاً مكتوبا أو منطوقاً في لغة نعرفها . يصبح بإمكاننا إستخراج معناه المتكافئ بمجرد النظر إلى :
The semantic sense of each word and sentence.المعنى الدلالي لكل كلمه و جملة
Its communicative value قيمته البليغة
Its place in time and space. مكانه و زمن حدوثة
The information about the participants involved in its production and reception المعلومات المتوافرة عن المشاركون في إنتاجه و إستقباله

Using the Six Wh-Questions in looking for Equivalence in translating a text.
إستخدام اسئله الـ Wh في البحث عن المرادفات المكافئه في النص المُترجم
1. What ? Is the message contained in the text, the content of the signal, the propositional content of the speech acts.
What >وهي الرساله الوارده في النص , مضمون الإشارة المحتوى المقترح في الخطاب
2. Why? Orients us towards the intentions of the sender, the purpose for which the text was issued.
Why> توجهنا إلى نوايا المُرسل , الغرض الذي كُتب له النص.
3. When? Is concerned with the time of communication realised in the text and setting it in its historical context; contemporary or set in recent or remote past or future.
When > تدلنا على الزمن (وقت التواصل المُدرك في النص) والأوضاع في محتواها التاريخي اكانت معاصرة أم زمنها الحاضر أم المستقبل البعيد .

أ-طريقة الإيصال : أي فحوى الخِطاب هل هو جاد ام ساخر ؟
ب-وسيله التواصل : طريقة الخطاب هل هو مكتوب أم منطوق
5. Where? Is concerned with the place of the communication; the physical location of speech event realised in the text.
Where > تشير إلى المكان ( مكان التواصل ) المكان الطبيعي للنص والأحداث التي أدركها النص

6. Who? Refers to the participants involved in the communication; the sender and receiver(s). Both spoken and written reveal the characteristics of the speaker or writer as an individual.
Who> تشير إلى الأشخاص المشاركين في الحدث : المرسل , المستقبل . و كلا من النصوص المكتوبه و المنطوقة تكشف لنا خصائص المتحدث أو الكاتب كفرد .

According to Bell, a good translation is “that in which the merit of the original work is so completely transfused into another language, as to be as distinctly apprehended, and as strongly felt, by a native of the country to which that language belongs, as it is by those who speak the language of the original work.”
وفقاً لـ Bell , فالترجمه الصحيحه هي " أن يشتمل النص المُترجم على جميع خصائص و فضائل النص الأصلي كي يصل بوضوح و يٌستشعر بقوّة لدى السكان الأصليين للنص الأصلي كما لأولئك الذين يتحدون لغة العمل الأصلي "

6Three Laws of Good Translation
ثلاثة قوانين للترجمه الجيده :
As a result of the above good definition of translation, the following three laws emerge from it.
و كنتيجه للتعريفات الجيده أعلاه , فقد انبثقت منها ثلاثه قوانين :
1. That the Translation should give a complete transcript of the ideas of the original work.
2. That the style and manner of writing should be of the same character with that of the original.
3. That the Translation should have all the ease of the original composition.
1- أن الترجمه يحب أن تُعطي نسخه طبق الأصل للفكرة الموجوده في العمل الأصلي
2-الأسلوب في العمل الأصلي يجب أن يؤخذ كما هو في العمل الأصلي

الترجمه كـ عمليه و إنتاج
A more advanced definition of translation can be seen when we look at it as process and product. In other words: “It is the abstract concept

6which encompasses both the process of translation and the product of that process”.
أن التعاريف المتقدمه هذه يمكننا أن نراها من خلال العمليات والإنتاج. بمعنى آخر " أنها مفهوم مجرد يشمل كل من عمليه الترجمه و عمليه الإنتاج "
q Translating : is the process i.e. (to translate; it is the activity rather than the tangible object)
q A Translation: is the product of the process of translating (i.e. the translated text)

6Communication Versus Translation التواصل مقابل الترجمه
q All communicators are translators, because they receive signals in speech and in writing containing messages encoded in a communication system which is not identical with their own.
q All communicators tend to face the same problems as those of translators, because they need to read the text, make sense of a text. They need to deconstruct it and then reconstruct it.
q Therefore, we can say that any model of communication is a model of translation.

· جميع المُحاورون ( الذي يحاورون أشخاصاً لا ينتمون لنفس اللغه ) يعتبرون مترجمون , لأنهم يستقبلون إشارات لفظيه و كتابيه تحتوي على رسائل مشفرة encoded في نظام تواصلي آخر ليس مماثلاً للنظام الموجود في لغتهم .
· جميع المحاورون يواجهون نفس المشاكل التي يواجهها المترجمون لأنهم يتجهون لقراءه النصوص , يفهمون معانيها , يفككونها و بعد ذلك يعيدون بنائها و تشكيلها من جديد.
· لهذا يجدر بنا القول بأن أي نموذج للتواصل ( الحوار) هو نموذجاً للترجمة .

6What is the difference between a normal communicator and a Translator? ما الفرق ما بين المُحاور العادي و المُترجم .. ؟

The Translator's acts contrast on that:-أما المُترجم فبالمقابل سيقوم بـ :
When taking a turn as a sender, the monolingual is obliged to:
حينما تكون أنت المُرسل و تكون أحادي اللغه ( لغتك الأم )فسيكون عليك ان :
a) the encoding consists of re-encoding into a different language.
ستتضمن عمليه الترميز لدى المترجم عمليه أخرى و هي عمليه إعاده الترميز اثناء نقلها الى لغة أخرى .

b) concerns the same message as was Received.
تكون موجّهه للرساله المُستقبله

c) it is aimed at a group receivers who are not the same as the original sender.
وقد تكون موجّهه لمجموعة من المستقبيل قد لا تجمعهم علاقه بالمُرسل نفسه

6How important are memory, meaning and language to the Translator? ما مدى أهمية الذاكره , المعنى واللغة للمُترجم ؟

Like other communicators, translators need excellent memory to enable them use the semantic knowledge, syntactic knowledge and rhetorical knowledge of two different languages and two different cultures.

و كباقي المُحاورين , يحتاج المترجمون إلى ذاكره ممتازة تمكنهم من إستخدام المعرفه الدلاليه والنحويه و البلاغيّة للغتين و حضارتين مختلفتين .

q Memory : contains ‘records’ of past experiences, has plans for action on the basis of what we know and what we have done.
فالذاكره : تخزّن التجارب الماضية و تخطط للقيام بأفعال مُرتكزة على ما نعرفه و ما انجزناه.

q Language: much of our experience of the external world of the senses and the inner world of the mind is mediated by language.

4. Retrieves message يسترجع الرّساله
5. Comprehend message يفهمها
6. Translator selects code 2 يختار شفره 2
7. Encodes message by means of code 2 يشفّر الرساله عن طريق الشفرة 2
8. Select channel يختار قناة
9. Transmits signal 2 containing message. ينقل الإشارة 2 متضمنه الرساله

A professional translator has access to five distinct kinds of knowledge:

The translator communicative competences consists of the following components تقوم الكفائه التواصليه للمترجم على المكوّنات الآتيه :

q Grammatical competence: knowledge of the rules of the code, including vocabulary and word formation, pronunciation/spelling and sentence structure.
الكفاءه النحويّه : و تشمل المفردات و تشكيل الكلمات و النطق وهيكل الجملة

q Sociolinguistic Competence: knowledge of and ability to produce and understand utterances appropriately in context, i.e. as constrained by topic, the status of the participant, purpose of the interaction, etc.
الكفاءه اللغوية الإجتماعيه : و تشمل كتابه و فهم الكلام من و إلى السياق بالشكل المناسب , وتكون مقيده بالموضوع نفسه و بحاله المُشارك و الغرض من التفاعل . ( المقصود هنا ان المترجم يجب ان تكون لديه المقدرة على فهم المجتمع الذي سيخاطبه و المقدرة أيضاً على مخاطبتهم بالطريقة التي تناسبهم مستخدما لغتهم و أسلوبهم )

q A Translator thinks and talks about translation from inside the process, knowing how it’s done, possessing a practical real-world sense of the problems involved.
المترجم يفكر و يتحدث عن الترجمه من عُمق العمليه ويعرف كيف أنها تُنجز , مُمتلكاً حساً حقيقياً بما تتضمنه من مشاكل
q Reliability: He acts in reliable ways delivering reliable translation by deadlines.
الدقه : يعمل المترجم الجيد بطرق دقيقَة كي يقدم ترجمةً موثوقه في الموعد .

q Timeliness: He should be timely, in the sense of not getting the translation arrive past the time of its usefulness or value.
التوقيت : يجب على المترجم الجيد أن يحسن ضبط وقته أي يجب عليه أن لا يسارع في تقديم الترجمه مبكراً على حساب جودتها و دقتها.

q Ethics: He should be ethical. In other words, it is unethical for the translator to distort the meaning of the source text
الاخلاق : من اللاأخلاقياً أن يقوم المترجم بتحريف النص الأصلي الموجود عند قيامه بعملية الترجمه .

q Speed: A translator should be able to know when to speed and when to not to seeped. This depends on the following factors:
السرعه : و على المترجم الجيد ان يكون قادراً على معرفه المواطن التي يجب عليه أن يكون سريعاً فيها و المواطن الأخرى التي تتطلب التّأني و هذا يعتمد على العوامل الآتيه :

1- Typing speed سرعه الكتابة
2- The level of text difficulty مستوى صعوبة النص
3- Personal preferences or style النمط و التفضيلات الشخصية
4- Job stress, general mental state. ضغط العمل , و الوضع الذهني العام

what is the process of the translation ?


1. It is a complex cognitive operation which takes place in the mind of the translator.

وايضا تتكلم عن ان اللغة الانجليزية يوجد بها برفيكس و سفكس بينما اللغة العربية لا توجد بها مثل هذه الاشياء
