6How important are memory, meaning and language to the Translator? ما مدى أهمية الذاكره , المعنى واللغة للمُترجم ؟ و كباقي المُحاورين , يحتاج المترجمون إلى ذاكره ممتازة تمكنهم من إستخدام المعرفه الدلاليه والنحويه و البلاغيّة للغتين و حضارتين مختلفتين .Like other communicators, translators need excellent memory to enable them use the semantic knowledge, syntactic knowledge and rhetorical knowledge of two different languages and two different cultures. |

q Memory : contains ‘records’ of past experiences, has plans for action on the basis of what we know and what we have done. فالذاكره: تخزّن التجارب الماضية و تخطط للقيام بأفعال مُرتكزة على ما نعرفه و ما انجزناه. q Language: much of our experience of the external world of the senses and the inner world of the mind is mediated by language. واللغة: فكثير من تجاربنا في العالم الخارجي الذي ندركه بحواسنه وعالمنا الداخلي في عقولنا تتوسطها اللغة . |

v Translators must be good at storing experiences in memory, and at retrieving those experiences whenever needed to solve complex translation problems. فالمترجمون لديهم إمكانيه جيده في تخزين التجارب في ذاكرتهم و إسترجاعها متى إحتاجوها لحل مشاكل الترجمه المُعقده |

6How does a translator move from one language to another in the course of translation? كيف ينتقل المترجم من لغة لأُخرى في طور الترجمه ؟ When translating a written communication, the translator go through the following nine steps: حينما تُكتب الترجمه من أجل التواصل , يمر المترجم بتسعه خطوات كالتالي : 1. Translator receives signal 1 containing message يستقبل المترجم إشارة تتضمن رساله 2. Recognises code 1 يقوم بالتّعرف على هذه الشفرة 1 3. Decodes signal 1 يترجم الشفرة 1 4. Retrieves message يسترجع الرّساله 5. Comprehend message يفهمها 6. Translator selects code 2 يختار شفره 2 7. Encodes message by means of code 2 يشفّر الرساله عن طريق الشفرة 2 8. Select channel يختار قناة 9. Transmits signal 2 containing message. ينقل الإشارة 2 متضمنه الرساله |

6What does the translator’s knowledge-base contain? على ماذا تعتمد معرفه المترجم ؟ A professional translator has access to five distinct kinds of knowledge: يجتاز المًترجم المًحترف خمسة معارف بارزة : q Target Language knowledge (TL) المعرفه باللغه الهدف ( المُراد الترجمه إليها) q Text-Type knowledge المعرفه بنوع النّصوص q Source Language knowledge (SL) المعرفه باللغه المصدر ( اللغه المُراد ترجمتها ) q Subject-area knowledge المعرفه بمكان الموضوع q And contrastive knowledge المعرفه التقابليه |

6What does the translator’s communicative competence consist of :- على ماذا تقوم الكفائه التواصليّه للمترجم ؟ الكفاءه اللغوية الإجتماعيه : و تشمل كتابه و فهم الكلام من و إلى السياق بالشكل المناسب , وتكون مقيده بالموضوع نفسه و بحاله المُشارك و الغرض من التفاعل . ( المقصود هنا ان المترجم يجب ان تكون لديه المقدرة على فهم المجتمع الذي سيخاطبه و المقدرة أيضاً على مخاطبتهم بالطريقة التي تناسبهم مستخدما لغتهم و أسلوبهم )The translator communicative competences consists of the following components تقوم الكفائه التواصليه للمترجم على المكوّنات الآتيه : q Grammatical competence: knowledge of the rules of the code, including vocabulary and word formation, pronunciation/spelling and sentence structure. الكفاءه النحويّه : و تشمل المفردات و تشكيل الكلمات و النطق وهيكل الجملة q Sociolinguistic Competence: knowledge of and ability to produce and understand utterances appropriately in context, i.e. as constrained by topic, the status of the participant, purpose of the interaction, etc. |
